Link Building Tips

Try to diversify the strategies you use to build backlinks. It is best if not all of your websites come from one strategy.
1) Build your links slowly and methodically. Don't build them too fast, and don't stop building them altogether.
2) Only use linkbuilding techniques that you are comfortable with. It is good to know Google's policies regarding links and then make your decisions.
3)  Start building links immediately. Don't procrastinate or over-analyze.

How to build links?

Submit Articles to Article Reprint Directories. Article submissions are great because you can receive traffic to your website directly from the article directory as well as the backlink in the author resource box.
Write high quality unique content and submit to the top article directories such as
EzineArticles.com, Article Alley, Buzzle and others. You can use submityourarticle to submit your articles and blogs.TopTenZ.net is a great place to submit your list and earn a backlink and ListVerse.com is another cool place to submit your lists of 10-20 items.

Share Documents online

There are lots of document sharing websites online such as Google Docs, Docstoc, Scribd and others that allow yo u to upload a PDF or Word Document and share it with the world. You can often include links in your documents and these articles can provide good links to your website.

Submit Content to Private Networks
The Authority Link Network is a free private network that you can post to. The only requirement is that you submit a website to receive articles.

1. Backlink Solutions - this network contains over 400 blogs on separate servers in a variety of niches that you can post your content and links to. You will have to get on the waiting list if you want in.
2. 1 Way Links - This network is HUGE. It currently contains over 6,000 independently owned and operated blogs in its network. You can submit a certain number of posts each month and earn more submission credits if you add your own sites to the network.

Submit Content to Web 2.0 Sites

This is a similar concept to general article marketing. However, in this scenario you are usually providing your "expertise" on a given topic and your content and links will be published on these sites.
Examples of these types of websites include Squidoo, Hubpages and others. The only real difference between this stategy and traditional article marketing is that you do not get the viral effect of others webmasters and publications reprinting your content on their websites

Write and Submit "How-to" Guides
There are a lot of "how to" websites online today. You can write an article about how to do something related to your website niche or industry and submit it to these sites. Be sure to list your website or websites as resources.
A few examples of these types of websites include eHow.com, Instructables.com and Wikihow.com

Post Comments to .Gov or .Edu Blogs & blogger and wordpress

This is just the same as regular blog commenting, but the links may be even more powerful since they come from .gov or .edu servers. You can find these types of sites fairly easily using Google's Advanced search.

Post Classified Ads

Post classified ads for your products or services on Craigslist, BackPage.com and other free classified ads. Make sure to include a link back to your website in the classified ad listing. If done right, classified ads can bring great traffic to your sales pages as well as the links.

Submit Your Website to General Web Directories

This is one of the original link building methods. Submit your website to the top web directories such as DMOZ, Yahoo and others as well as industry or niche specific web directories. Some of the best directories may charge you for submissions. If you do not have a budget for that, there are plenty of free directories online as well. A few of the best general web directories include:
1 DMOZ Directory
2 Yahoo Directory
3 Librarians' Internet Directory
4 Jayde Directory
 5 Joe Ant Directory

Add Signature Links to Forum Posts

Find public forums or message boards in your industry or niche and participate in the conversations. When allowed, add a link to your website in your forum signature. If you provide quality posts to forums, you will also get good quality web traffic from these links in addition to the SEO benefit.

Add your Business to Bing Maps and google maps

Make sure your website is listed on Google Places (Google Maps) if you have a physical location. Add your web link to your profile and also add other information to your profile to increase its ranking in Google.
